Reflection of the writing and editing process

Thus far, I have learned a bundle of things on the usage of English. I was exposed to the writing process starting from analyzing articles, summary, reader response to a problem solution essay. Previously, I have only written summaries before, and even that was easily three years ago during O levels. On top of that, I have recapped and learnt the various aspects of the English Language, ranging from word form, verb tense to run-on sentence and more. It was a refreshing experience, as I have never felt that I had so much to work on for English until I had to attend this class.
In terms of improvement, I have learnt the proper way to do in-text citation and the sources available to explore for reliable articles to backup and substantiate my points. Therefore, I feel that the content for my essays now are more believable as I have learnt to add in reliable statistics. I do also think that I am better now with language, after all the exercises I have taken during classes. For the structure of academic writing, I did not think that there was an issue with my work before the class. But after several practices, I realized that I could have done much better in writing more concise sentences and establishing my main points further.
Analyzing the various articles was one of the exercises I like most. I feel that my key weakness is in interpreting questions and thus answering them to the point. Hence, from week 10 – 12, it would be helpful if there were lessons on analyzing questions or articles.
One of my key weaknesses is answering the question. Thus, I have to work on critical thinking in tackling the question.
I have gone through all the feedback on both assignments and had made the respective amendments. I understood the comments and the errors I had made, thus I agree with the feedback given.
In terms of rating my grade for content, organization and language, I was not as accurate on organization, but it was a realization that I had a problem with the structure of my writing, and something that I had to work on.
I do think that audio and written feedback is a good way to get feedback as through the audio method, it was much more clearer and elaborated on the description of my errors and the type of amendments I should make. Through visual feedback, it was easy for me to refer to and make amendments at the same time.
If I had audio and written feedback for my project work and essay questions in my other courses, it would definitely be beneficial to my future assignments. It would allow me to improve on my work, as I know what I had to change and work on the next time.
